Loreto Convent , since its inception in the in the year 1877 Loreto Convent, Asansol has flourished as one of the pioneer educational institutions of the town. A reputed English medium high school in all regards it is run by the management of the Asansol Loreto Educational Society. It comes under the affiliation of Indian Council of Secondary Education, New Delhi and is also recognised by the Directorate of School Education (AIS) West Bengal.
A premium educational institute which meets professional standards, the school has classes right from the Kindergarten to the Class X Level. A parallel literacy programme is also carried out for the children who live in the underprivileged mining areas. The academic session of the school starts in April and ends in March, the following year.
